Clean up our rivers

Paul Hodgkinson and the Cotswold Liberal Democrats are calling for a 16% sewage tax on the profits of water companies to help clean up our rivers.

Last year, UK water companies pumped sewage into our rivers and lakes more than 400,000 times. Pumping sewage into rivers and lakes harms our environment and wildlife like fish and otters.

The Conservatives are letting them get away with it. The Cotswolds Conservative MP failed to vote to stop sewage being pumped into rivers and voted against a 'name and shame' policy for water companies that harm wildlife with sewage.

“It is disgraceful that companies like Thames Water are making huge profits whilst polluting our rivers. I’m demanding action to make them pay to clean up our waterways."

Sign my petition to stand up to companies like Thames Water to protect our rivers and lakes.
