The new Lib Dem administration at Cotswold District Council have published new times and dates for Council and Committee meetings to make it easier for people to attend.
Meetings of the full Council will now be held on Wednesdays and will alternate between a 2pm start time and 6pm. Cabinet meetings have also been moved to the first Monday of the month starting at 6pm.
The start time of all other committees will remain the same.
The first Cabinet meeting of the District Council will be held at 6 pm on Monday 1 July.
Lib Dem Leader of Cotswold District Council, Cllr Joe Harris commented,
“A priority of the new administration at CDC is to ensure that our meetings are as open and as accessible to the public as possible.
“As a result we’ve decided to alter the start time of Council and Cabinet meetings to make them more convenient for Councillors and members of the public to attend; these new start times make it easier for those with work or childcare commitments.
“We’ve also committed to webcasting our Council meetings so, no matter where you live in the Cotswolds, you will be able to access democracy in action. I hope to have this technology in place by the end of the year.”
