Gary Selwyn

Gary has lived in Cirencester for nearly 30 years and understands the issues that face the community. He loves Cirencester and hopes to continue to make it an even better place to live, work and visit.

Gary enjoys volunteering for several local charities and trusts and tries to keep involved by supporting the many local events that take place. There's a huge volunteer network in Cirencester and he's always amazed by how much people contribute their time, energy and expertise to improve the Town.

He's the secretary of the Watermoor Community Group and is a Cirencester Town Councillor.

His priorities are:

  • Parking issues - Gary understands the issues well and how important it will be to communicate these at the consultation stages of parking reviews
  • The "Chesterton Development" will make a long-term significant impact on Cirencester.  Gary has had many conversations with those who objected to the development and is keen to represent those views as well as ensuring the best possible outcome as development progresses
  • Developing an economic plan for Cirencester - The face of the high street has changed in recent years; Gary wants to see an economic plan to ensure Cirencester remains a great place to work and shop
