On Thursday 3rd February there will be a by-election to elect a new District Councillor for the Campden and Vale seat!
Campden and Vale Ward is in the very north of our district, it includes Chipping Campden, Mickleton Willersey, Aston-sub-Edge, Weston-sub-Edge and Saintbury. The Conservative Councillor who represented the seat has been disqualified from Cotswold District Council for not attending a single Council meeting for 6 months despite having the opportunity to attend 37 meetings!
In doing so he’s taken the residents he represented for granted and landed the taxpayer with a £10,000 bill for a costly by-election. The Councillor in question is a former Leader and Chairman of the Council so should know better!
A real opportunity
We've got the opportunity now to win a crucial by-election.
If we’re successful not only will residents gain a hardworking Lib Dem Councillor but it’ll also build on our foundation as we look to mount a serious challenge to topple Geoffrey Clifton-Brown at the next general election.
Parliamentary success starts at a local level!
Help us win!
