Gloucestershire’s Liberal Democrats have revealed their exciting shadow cabinet, with a wealth of experience both in and out of local government.
Gloucestershire’s Liberal Democrats are sharing their cabinet to shadow the Conservative administration.
Covering all sectors of Council business, these spokespersons represent a cabinet in waiting – critical when the Conservative group has a majority of just three, down from nine last term.
The Liberal Democrat Shadow Cabinet has decades of experience on the County Council, as well as new faces coming from the private sector to provide a great balance.
Commenting on the announcement, Cllr Paul Hodgkinson, Lib Dem Group leader, said:
“I’m delighted to be able to assemble an experienced and exciting Cabinet to shadow the County Council administration.
“Each member has a wealth of experience to bring to the position, both from inside local government and professionally. This will be essential in trying to achieve the best results for our residents and challenging our council colleagues to do better.
“We know the Conservative majority on the County Council is wafer thin, so it’s critical that I have a team ready to step in immediately should this administration fall.”
