Plastics Recycling Campaign in Cirencester

Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate and Cirencester County Councillor Roger Brown is leading the campaign to recycle plastics on the doorstep in the Cotswolds.

Outraged over the huge amount of plastic packaging and bottles going to landfill (including everything in your new grey bins), Roger has launched a petition calling for Cotswold District Council (CDC) to allow you to recycle all plastics on the doorstep.

Roger says "Too often, a trip to the shops leads to huge amounts of plastic packaging waste. I'm sad that CDC and Gloucestershire County Council have decided not to do what so many other councils now offer- a plastics recycling service on the doorstep.

"Now, we're calling on the Conservative controlled CDC and GCC to offer this facility as soon as possible.- not only will it help the environment but it will save us huge future increase in land-fill taxes."

This Saturday the 12th July the plastics recycling campaign comes to Cirencester Market Place from 10.30am-12.30pm. Meet us by the Church and support our campaign: Make the point by giving us your plastic bottles for us to recycle!

You can also sign the petition from this website (click on "Sign Our Petition" on the menu bar on the left).
