John is the longest serving member of the County Council which he has done continuously since 1981, always representing Wotton-under-Edge.
He has a wealth of experience, particularly in the fields of planning, transport and environment.
He is currently chair of the County Planning Committee and in the past has been a Cabinet member and Chair of the County Council. He also chairs the county’s Stroud Road Safety Liaison Group.
