The state of many roads in the Cotswolds and Gloucestershire are terrible. In some areas, driving around can be so bumpy that it feels like being on a safari, couple this with the damage done to vehicles which costs motorists thousands of pounds a year it makes for a totally unacceptable situation.
Years of underinvestment by the ruling Conservatives at Shire Hall means there is a backlog of repairs of well over £80 million. The budget for roads is around £30million.
