Ed Smith is a 22 year old History graduate. He has lived in Winstone for 11 years and before that in Birdlip where he went to the local school.
Having grown up in the area he understands the specific issues that rural communities like the Cotswolds struggle with and he is keen to see these addressed. If elected to the district council he would strive to address issues such as local transport links which help keep the area connected. This is vital for those who do not own a car and those at risk of social isolation.
Maintaining local roads including signage, hedges and dealing with potholes is another priority. He thinks that the district council should be achieving better value for money in delivering services from bins to buses. He is always keen to listen to anyone about their ideas and concerns.
His main priorities are:
- Supporting and developing rural bus routes
- Fixing our broken roads
- Providing genuinely affordable housing for local families and our young people
